Herman Potgieter is a Professor at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa and Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He is a metallurgist cum chemist with an interest in problem-solving in the material and metal extraction fields. He has specific interests in the development of novel, sustainable methods of metals extraction from low-grade ores and wastes and waste utilisation.
