The SIMMET Research Group is glad to announce to new research projects for 2024:
- Separation technology for pyrite screening (sponsored by DRDGold)
- Fe (and Mn) extraction from ore with the gas phase process in a fluidised bed (sponsored by ARM)

SIMMET also welcomes ARM and Mintek as new funders. Since its inception the research group has worked closely with partners in the mining industry to assist with problem solving. The new partners expands the scope of research and diversity of materials the group can study, and furthermore provides postgraduate students with relevant and hands-on training during their research projects.
